Summary of Activities 29 July 2026

  1. Road Works Progress
    The Works Department continued implementing road improvement works across the district. Activities included gravel dumping and culvert installation along the Adopale–Amoroto–Damasiko–Atogwang Road, as well as gravel spreading along the Abelet–Dokolo–Amukaru Road. The field supervision was conducted by Senior Engineer Denis Ocung to ensure quality and compliance with engineering standards.
  2. PDM Beneficiary Selection
    The selection of 50 beneficiaries under the Parish Development Model (PDM) was conducted for Ajonyi Oculoi PDM SACCO. The exercise aimed at identifying eligible beneficiaries to benefit from the government poverty alleviation programme.
  3. PDM Beneficiary Selection in Asuret
    The selection of PDM beneficiaries for Asuret PDM SACCO was also conducted at Asuret Sub-county, as part of efforts to support households under the Parish Development Model programme.
  4. Revenue Mobilisation and Target Setting in Ocokican
    The district revenue team conducted an engagement in Ocokican Sub-county to set revenue collection targets for the quarter and develop strategies aimed at improving local revenue performance and mobilisation.
  5. Engagement with Market Plot Owners in Gweri
    As part of strategies to enhance revenue generation in Gweri Sub-county, the district engaged plot owners in the newly reallocated weekly market along the Gweri–Kapujan Road. The engagement focused on market management, compliance, and improving revenue collection.
  6. District Technical Planning Committee Meeting
    Soroti District held its monthly District Technical Planning Committee (DTPC) meeting, bringing together Heads of Departments, sector heads, and Sub-county technical staff to plan and discuss technical issues for the smooth running of the district. The meeting was chaired by the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ssempala.
  7. Council Committee Meetings
    The district also held Council Committee meetings to scrutinize departmental work plans ahead of the forthcoming General Council meeting. In a bid to strengthen committee oversight and delivery in the Social Services sector, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Ssempala, addressed the committee chaired by Hon. Ebiri Paul, providing strategic direction and operational guidance.
