Sembabule District – The Minister, Hon. Balaam, today attends a special sitting at the Sembabule City Council Hall focused on addressing corruption and governance concerns affecting the district. The meeting brought together government officials, local leaders, security agencies, and members of the public to discuss complaints and chart a way forward in the fight against corruption.

Several complaints are being raised by leaders and residents concerning alleged corruption, abuse of office, and poor service delivery within local government structures. In response, Hon. Balaam has emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting accountability and ensuring that those involved in corrupt practices are brought to justice.

The Minister has assured attendees that every individual with credible evidence of corruption would be given an opportunity to present their complaints during the upcoming public rally. He encouraged citizens to come prepared with facts and supporting evidence, stressing that the exercise would be conducted fairly and transparently.

“No one with genuine evidence should fear coming forward. Everyone will be given a chance to speak and expose those involved in corruption. Accountability begins when citizens participate in protecting public resources,” Hon. Balaam says.

The Minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation from the Ministry, including Mr. Siwizin Kinga Mugyema, Commissioner for Local Councils Development, and Mr. Stephen Idha Koma, Commissioner for District Inspection. Their presence underscored the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening local government oversight and improving service delivery.

Also in attendance is Hon. Brig. Gen. (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande, Hon. Florence Nambaziira Musoke the Woman Member of Parliament Sembabule, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the Deputy RDC, representatives from various security agencies, and officials from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
